Student Documentary to be Shown at History Branch

Join us Sunday, June 4 at 2:30pm to support 8th grade students from Lake Forest Middle School before they take their National History Day documentary Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds: Faith, Family, Friends, Freedom to Washington, D.C. after winning first place at the regional and state level.

The result of extensive research, their film focuses on Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds, a native east Tennessean who was a POW during World War II. Sergeant Edmonds saved the lives of over 200 American-Jewish soldiers by leading his fellow POWs to take a stand against the German commander.

This program will be held at the History Branch & Archives located at 833 N. Ocoee St.
