The staff of the History Branch and Archives will attempt to answer basic genealogical or historical questions by correspondence. Only indexed sources will be searched. A maximum of five items may be requested at a time. The basic search fee is $5.00. There is an additional fee for photocopies.
- .20 per photocopy (books, monographs)
- $1.00 per microfilm copy per page
- $1.00 per obituary
- $5.00 per death certificate. Provide the name of deceased, year and county of death. Certificates are available from the state of Tennessee for the years 1908-1912 and 1914-1954.
- $5.00 Bradley County marriage record or certificate 1864-2000.
- $5.00 Bradley County will 1859-1954
- $10.00 Tennessee Confederate soldier’s or widow’s pension application. Please include an additional $2.00 for postage when ordering 2-5 pension applications.
Fees are payable in advance and are not refundable.
A self-addressed stamped envelope is required for a reply.
Rare, fragile, and/or irreplaceable materials will not be photocopied. We reserve the right to refuse to photocopy materials which the staff determine may be damaged by photocopying.
A list of genealogists who can be hired to assist with complicated research questions is available on request.
