Children Services

Our Professional staff provides patrons reference and reader's advisory assistance in locating books, audiovisual, information and other materials. The Collection includes: over 20,000 items in the Easy, Juvenile and Young Adult sections of the Children’s Room; a reference collection is provided for in-house use; videos and books on tape; and children’s magazines.

A large number of titles included in the Accelerated Readers Test Program are maintained by the Library.

Programs for Children include: Preschool storytimes twice a week; Summer Reading Program in June and July; and Storytelling Contest in November. Tours or orientations for groups and classes can be made by appointment. Computers are available for children’s use as well as an online-catalog.
