The Book and Coffee Series hosted by FOLA will be held November 15th at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library at 10 a.m. The Reverand Joel Huffstetler will review C. S. Lewis – A Life: Eccentric, Genius, Reluctant Prophet by Alister McGrath. In C.S. Lewis—A Life, Alister McGrath, prolific author and respected professor at King’s College of London, paints a definitive portrait of the life of C. S. Lewis. After thoroughly examining recently published Lewis correspondence, Alister challenges some of the previously held beliefs about the exact timing of Lewis’s shift from atheism to theism and then to Christianity. He paints a portrait of an eccentric thinker who became an inspiring, though reluctant, prophet for our times. All are invited to attend this review. FOLA provides the coffee.
The library will be closed November 11th through the14th while a new automated library system, VERSO, is being installed. Materials checked out before this closing will not be due until after November 15th when the library will open.
