Did you get a new e-reader device for Christmas? If you are having problems downloading free e-books from the library you can call and set up an appointment for a one-on-one meeting with a staff member who can help you set up your device and log onto the R.E.A.D.S. site. Join us January 12th for our first “2nd Sunday at 2p.m.” series in the Community Room when Kathryn Primm, DVM, will talk about her new book, Tennessee Tails: Pets and their People. Dr. Primm, owns Applebrook Animal Hospital in Ooltewah TN. Her book is a glimpse into the life of a charismatic and skilled veterinarian. America’s Veterinarian Dr. Marty Becker states,”The heart of veterinary medicine beats inside thousands of vets who give their all for animals. Kathryn’s book shows why I’m so proud of my profession and proud she is my colleague. Animal lovers will love this book.”
The library will host a free introduction to couponing Saturday, January 18th from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room. We’ll begin with the basics including when and where to shop, how to find and organize your coupons, and strategies for stockpiling to save up to 50% on your household expenses! Call the Non-Fiction desk to reserve a spot.
The following computer classes are now available for registration: Basic Computers, Jan. 6 & 7 from 3 until 5 p.m., Beginning Email, Jan. 13 & 14 from 10 a.m. until noon, Excel, Jan. 27, 28, 29 and 30, from 3 until 5 p.m., Beginning Internet, Jan. 8 & 9, from 3 until 5 p.m. Powerpoint, Jan 20 & 21, from 10 a.m. until noon, Windows 8, Jan. 15 & 16, from 3 until 5 p.m. and Word, Jan 22 & 23, from3 until 5 p.m.
All classes are free with a valid library card and are available on a first come basis. Classes are limited to 12 patrons per session.
The Children’s library offers a Family Story Time every Saturday at 2 p.m. with stories for the whole family with a craft.
Monsters University will be the Tween Movie showing January 11th in the Community Room at 11 a.m.
